Default Sidelights fault

I have a 05 s60 and I am having trouble with my rear sidelights flickering on and off when the car is locked up, i assumed it was the REM after checking all earths etc, but now im wondering could it be the CEM sending a fault to the rear? I have had a replacement screen and this issue happened not long after that.
I have taken it to an auto electrics and its showing no fault codes there or at volvo but the electrician said there was a can-bus failure and the modules were not comunicating with each other. Any ideas??
Its an ex-plod facelift s60

I dont want to pay over £500 for a new REM o find out its not that.

There was a thread in the past few days detailing electrical faults, (CEM/REM) caused by water ingress following screen replacement. Clan contributed a couple of posts on the subject. I seem to recall the outcome was expensive but also a known fault in some models. Hope that helps.
