Volvo V70 2001 Door Lock Problem.
The fob will not unlock the door - no flashing lights. The key just literally turns full circle in the lock without doing anything. Working absolutely fine when I locked it with the fob on Sunday. A new battery was fitted about 6 weeks ago. Any ideas other than a sledge-hammer to break in? There is no frost here and the car is under cover.
Many thanks in anticipation - Volvo garage is some distance away... |

There is no access via the boot on this model that I have been able to find, so I think that I may need to resort to homestart...

The key barrel on the tailgate is normally only fitted if you have the third row of seats installed. If you've got one it is behind a cover at the top right of the number plate recess facing downwards.
Is your alarm light still flashing? Just wondering if your battery has gone down. Do any of the other button on the remote work? Try the one that has a symbol of a boot on it, you need to press it twice and only the tailgate should unlock. |

Thanks for this - just been and checked and found the alarm light isn't flashing, so battery must be flat - it's almost new so maybe got an alternator problem. However, next question then is - how to get into the car or open the bonnet to jump start without costly damage. Haven't got the tailgate lock facility.

Key operation of the door lock is a mechanical function. The state of the battery has no relevance. Do you have another key you can try?
