G/box: 2WD: - re transmission service light

Hi I,ve got a 200x volvo s80 t6 auto and driving it yesterday the transmission service light came on going into what feals like a limp mode, plugged it into to a scanner and cleared the code drove the car for 40 ish miles steady and it came on again checked the gearbox fluid looks which is fine and clear in colour, Can anyone advise me what to do next Many Thanks Dan

What code did your scanner give you before you erased it?

Really need to get those codes. At least the fluid is clear.

ha ha ha i had this 2 weeks ago..
change oil and filter, came back
reset the oil counter , still came back.
diagnostics read shift solenoid 2 hydraulic failure.
kept resetting it,
when the light comes on it locks in 3rd and the geartronic stops working,
stop the car switch it off and restart and it working ok but every so 50 odd miles it goes back into limp mode..
software upgrade at volvo cost me £59inc vat so far 150 miles and no lights.
(apparently the box is designed and built by Cadillac, the solenoid has a oil gum ring build up and it sticks either shut or open, causing it to trip the over pressure limit, the software increases the pressure and limits and frees up the solenoid and increase the over pressure limit so the ecu wont read it as a fault any-more,)may cure it !
i priced the valve chest(solenoid packs) up from FRF just before xmas with rufe, £560 delivered inc of vat, its a big job though (box out)
