Mines a 2012 V70 with upgraded 18' wheels and the turning circle is rubbish. I can't do a U-turn at a mini roundabout near me in one go, something I easily do in Toyota Hilux towing a 14 foot Ifor Williams trailer!

I thought after a new V70 I'd feel that the V40 was tired, old and dated, but I don't. The V70 is a fantastic machine, but it's big and lazy. The D5 215bhp is as smooth as diesels can be, but you can tell it's a diesel. The T4 is just so smooth for a 4 cylinder engine.

I'm off to Switzerland in a few weeks climbing, and I'm worried that one of my careless pals will stick an ice axe pick through the leather seats on the V70. I know they'll fart and belch all the way there, so I may well take the T4. If it wasn't for the better economy of the V70, I'd take the T4 in a heartbeat.

Thumbs up

I would like a V40 T4, in metallic red (353) to match my 1.8 S40, complete with matching leather etc.

A few more trips away and one could be mine - if I can work the wife round to my way of thinking.

Gary

Not a V40, and so far away from you it might as well be in China lol

Is that even the same colour as yours Gary?

Hi Alex

Yes, that is the same colour as mine, but it must be a V40, as I already have an S40.

I might even contemplate a 2.0T V40, that matches my 'S'.

I have to save up the cash, as I am through with credit arrangements - pay for things when I have the cash from now on.

A couple of trips away should see me alright for something IRO £2K.

I might even consider a close colour match on a phase1 V40, as it is pre-VVT.

Then I can spend the extra cash on getting it up to the same state as my S40.

Oh, the wife will be so chuffed when she finally finds out, LOL!

Gary

On another note Gary, have you fitted your T4 spoiler yet? If so, how does it look? Any pics?
