So, the D5 is the only 5 cylinder model in these newer engines? I've come across adverts on Autotrader where D4's are listed as having five cylinders, but I'm unsure as to whether those specs are correct.

The VEA engines are more powerful than their predecessors and consequently offer better performance, although they dont sound quite as nice. Probably as a result of its 8-speed automatic gearbox, my 181 bhp 4-cylinder 2014 D4 is actually a good match for a 185 bhp 2008 D5. |

Brief update.
Now up to 165k miles since my original post. Still running like a swiss watch. Only problem was a small hole appearing in the bottom of the radiator which I had replaced for about £150 + labour by the excellent chaps at Kings Motors. in Westbury. At the next service (175k) I'll get the gearbox oil & filter changed again. I Roll...... |
