V70: General Which tyres

Pirelli 225x50x17 PZero Nero on the last four of my V70 and XC70 cars, never had any problem with then and superb mileage too, they are made in Carlisle 35 miles away, so im promoting them, being pro British and for a Hard Brexit

If you're not going for an all season tyre, I'd recommend the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. I've been very pleased with them in 225/50 R17 98W, at 46k miles on rears & about ready for changing. 1st set on fronts were changed at 20k due to uneven wear. Tracking done & 2nd set at 16k with 3.5 - 4mm remaining.

Ran those on my wife's V50 for about 3 years/90k miles - good balance of grip, economy and wear I would say. Good value too for a premium tyre.

Running my V70 on Nankang N-607 all season tyres, they were fitted when I bought the car and lasted 40k with front to back rotations. Switched to Avon ZV7? for a while.... atrocious, lasted 15k. Have returned to Nankangs, they have a nice balance all round, feel a lot like Pirelli p6000 that I used to run my Peugeot on years ago, but a lot cheaper. Doing 22k per year I’m not prepared to spend the £150+ per corner for the ‘premium’ brands.

Ps I paid £300 including fitting for 4x nankangs

I'm not wanting to start a Brexit debate, but do you honestly think Pirelli will want to retain a manufacturing plant in a European country that is not an EU member and has no trade agreements ? I guess we could always lower our salaries to remain competitive with China, Indonesia, Mexico etc...

Er................ yes. Especially if the majority of that factories production is sold in that country. Whilst it's cheaper to make tyres in other countries, because of their shape, size and weight it is very expensive to move tyres around the world compared to say mobile phones or TV sets which are higher value, much smaller and lighter...

And they can ship to other non-EU countries without the any WTO tariffs.

Just reporting back. After much consideration I went for the cross climates, so we'll see how they go. Many thanks to those that responded to this thread.
