You need to do the rear alignment, if you don't you will be trying to cover up and it will never be correct
Also some fitters only adjust one side on the front and this is wrong, as you need to do both to keep the steering wheel in the correct place, if you don't one side could be off more than the other ,
Does the steering feel OK, it does not go lighter when you go on full lock ,

If you have had your front wheel alignment adjusted, and the steering wheel is off centre, then the job has not been done correctly, end of!!! It's not best practise to only do the front wheels but briefly the first part involves locking the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, the lengths of each track rod are measured, equalised, and then and only then is the track adjusted. All of this assumes that the steering and front suspension components have been properly checked for excess wear.

Salut!

Hi also if the garage tells you that the steering wheel and front wheels are straight when doing the tracking with the car not moving,
and the Steering wheel is not straight while driving ,
IT IS THE REAR WHEEL ALINGMENT OR FRONT WISHBONE BUSHES

Checked with guys in the garage that did the front wheel alignment, they said the reason for steering wheel off the centre. It could be numerous of different factors suspension, tyres etc.

I read this in another forum "undo the nut holding the wheel on, put wheel where you want it, tighten the nut. " interesting if this would solve the problem.
People seem to do this and it works for them.

I would like to try different options before I take the car again to some garage and pay £30 or even more to do 10 min job.
The old tyres, the tyres you've changed, how did they wear? That will tell you a lot more about wheell alignment than a grease monkey with decrepit gauges. If they wore evenly then you should "freeze" current wheel alignment settings until you're certain of the solution, which could be as simple as adjusting the toe on both fronts to maintain alignment but altering the position of the steering wheel. Check equal lock both sides.

it's been long since I touched this, but it was enough, so I took a car to another garage.

the conclusion was made by the garage and those parts must be replaced before any other wheel alignment.

p.s. it is a left-hand drive car

parts must be changed:

1. Driver side front wishbone and front bush
2. Track rod end driver side

I had a quick look and I am surprised that the wishbone costs more than 100£..

my question is, what brand should I order? (I want to do it my self as the garage overcharges for the parts)

I has this issue I got tracking done with the wheel centered and once on the road it always pulled one way
I went back to them 3 times... in the end i gave up complaining.
This was after new wishbones, springs and all steering joints changed.

Last year I then changed the shocks, 4 tyres and got hunters alignment it still pulled one way on the wheel.

Next plan is polybush the wishbones and try again.

Or maybe just take the steering wheel off and adjust it that way lol.

The last option must be an option.
Perhaps actual Volvo dealer centre can sort this?

Quick fit did not give me the alignment diagram unfortunately.

Even when they set it and I drove it out and back to them it was all our of alignment.
However I did discover the incorrect shocks were fitted to the car causing touring car camber lol
