'87 is the last year of the biodegradable wiring harnesses. Not enough of an issue to avoid the car if it's otherwise nice. Replacement harnesses are available. The LH2.2 injection in an '87 B230F is reputed to remain reliable after all these years.

Thanks for the info DW32.
Went to see the 87 Petrol car, she is pretty dirty and been unused for a few months during which she seems to had been out under some pine tree. Debris on doors and trunk as well as muck dirt aroud the body but no rust however. The engine looks good and the beige velour interior is in good tune bar the ugly (to me) leather like covers. Door cubby holes aren't there but the rest seems in reasonable order. it had a flat battery so couldn't hear the engine running nor checking all innstruments and air conditioning. The price is not bad but I'm no that confident on the seller. He claims it was his brothers who cared for it since buying it from his first owner some 4 years ago. Somehow he does not inspire me confidence wich is the first thing i "buy" when valuing a car purchase. It's not MOTed and he is not prepare to pass the test before the sale. I think I'll pass on this one too |
