Wipers stopped working
All right - I know, my own fault. When doing some checks to my early 145 I operated the wipers by accident when the car-cover was still partly one - and the wipers stopped wiping when the blades snagged the cover.
What is the most likely thing to be damaged: is there a splined shaft onto which the arms clamp (like Amazons)? Could something be stripped there? Power is still getting to the motor but nothing is happening. Maybe in the motor? Help please! Paul |

..simple first
Presume you've checked the blindingly obvious already, ie the fuses as one may have blown. Otherwise I fear that the motor may be kaput. On an early car it's in an assembly with the rack and wiper spindles behind the dash and awkward but not impossible to get at.
A useful piece of information for us would be whether the wipers themselves are now stuck in place or moving freely. If the latter then something in the rack is broken (not that I know of this ever happening). Otherwise it's the motor not turning.
