Default XC90 2017 D5 Fuel consumption

I've just ticked over 7000 miles on my 2018 model XC90 which I got I in June and I'm still only getting about 27mpg, combined is supposed to be 49mpg according to Volvo. I knew I would never get close but surely I should be getting well into the mid 30's?

Anyone else with D5's in a similar situation?

Firstly volvo are not allowed to quote their own fuel consumption figures , the ones you see are 3rd party government ones .

what is your average speed showing? needs to be over 40 mph for good fuel consumption , also make sure your tyre pressurers are around 38 psi . do you live in a hilly area ? how often do you go over 70 mph ?

After 3200 miles, my 2017 D5 is 30.3mpg at an average of 28mph.
That's lots of short uneconomical trips around London with the occasional steady motorway journey up to Yorkshire.

4,000+ miles, and averaging 30 MPG, but that's with mostly short journeys around town. My long motorway journeys average around 45 MPG individually though.
