Default Volume control

This might be obvious but I can't find anything in the manual.
When I start the car, the volume of the radio is always too low. I'm sure in my last V70 it stayed at the same level as it was when turned off.
I have the basic audio system (don't know how to identify what it is).
Am I missing something here?

Thanks for the reply. Any idea what a dealer will charge for this, or if its a 'fix' will it be free at next service? Nearest dealer is too far away to make the trip just for this.

In mine, you can set the volume at start up to a specific volume as specified by me. It's in the my car menu under audio settings.

I couldn't find anything in the menu hence the question.
Mines a 12 plate so not exactly latest model.
Was fairly sure my old 58 plate V70 stayed at the same volume as it was when switched off.

Have you tried pressing the "Sound Button"?
This normally opens up a Menue.
Within this Menue one can adjust numerous sound settings.

Thanks for the reply. Pressing the sound button brings up a menu with four screens, all relating to the equalizer, not anything to do with volume control.

Have you phoned the dealer yet? He has the software that can resolve this for you

Dealer advises that as software is updated anyway as part of a service, its probably as well to wait until then.
Saves a separate visit (nearest dealer is miles away) and time.

I can confirm this is true. I had mine done during annual service only a few weeks ago.
