Default Sun roof cracked

2012 Xc60 full length sun roof
Hi my daughters car(my previous car)
She has just found a crack in glass roof has anybody experienced this and if so
What did you do as am thinking this could be very expensive.
All suggestions welcomed (well almost all )
Seems very unusual as no sign of being damaged other than cracked
Is it possible to just replace glass from someone such as Autoglass
This I doubt very much.
And don’t think insurance would cover and would probable lead to increased premium.

I would think this would be a dealer only replacement, be maybe worth a chat with auto glass ect.

Volvo dealers are meant to have at least one person who is trained to fit vehicle glass. Whether they will want the job who knows. It most certainly won’t be cheap. Perhaps insurance glass cover may cover it but then normally you are tied to there approved repairer.

In my experience Volvo outsource windscreen problems to a local company, in my case this firm:

https://www.bee-windscreens.co.uk/windscreen-repairs

They were contracted to remove and reseal my leaking screen by Volvo UK.

I know they are not local to you but they also replace sunroofs.

Might be worth looking for a local independent glass firm in you location which offers this service .
