There you go, shows how different we all are. Demonstrates why manufacturers are letting us specify options at a granular level these days.

Best wishes, Arianne

OUT: flappy paddles. Nice idea, fun for a short time....but never really use them now! & okay, okay, the button to flip rear headrests down was an extravagance....then again, only the other night I was able to clip someone round the ear, so perhaps worth the indulgence (although I think it is not an option now!)

IN: DSP (love adaptive cruise and magic headlights!), heated steering wheel, heated seats all round, privacy glass (safer with stuff left in back, & with rear camera I don't find them too dark), SatNav which works better than any I have owned & gives me choices, auto (8-speed) - very smooth drive.

NOT FUSSED: Pano roof. Maybe it would seem darker without, & occasionally in summer I do have it open, but I doubt I would miss it. & sorry Arianne, but personally I prefer my tyres where the alloy has least chance of scraping, so I'm another who would (& did!) say "no" to 20" rims. My summer 18" ones are big enough, my 17" winter ones look fine to me!

I'd like a reasonably priced Volvo front & rear camera option (added my own front one)

In: Nothing really. Perhaps the Heated Steering Wheel #1stWorldProblems.
Out: Check Engine Light and SatNav (as long as I could keep the bigger screen)
Definately again: Paddles. I know they aren't universally liked, but I hadn't realised at the time of ordering that if you don't have them, you can't change gear manually (in non-Sport mode).

This is actually a really useful thread. I have been debating whether to specify a sunroof on the next car and the posts have been helpful.

Also out....

The turtle! But I don't know anyone who knows how to make that happen at the moment.

Arianne

PS. still love the 20" rims guys

Ever since AC became standard on most cars, I have never had a sunroof.
Do not see the point and less to go wrong, leaks, etc.

In: DSP, auto, VOC, xenons, premium sound, Nav, flip-down load space guard.

Would add/change: r-design, heated rear seats and wheel, power passenger seat. Sunroof if XC60 so kids can spot birds

Wouldn't add: rear camera (hate staring at screen rather than direction of travel)

Out: Remote, but I didn't pay for it so I'd just keep the one I've got

I'd forgotten about the full to empty battery converter aka the remote control. Mine lives on the shelf behind the console, I think, haven't seen it for ages.

Technically, front sensors were the only option on mine - we get less pick and mix here in Oz!

What I'd def. keep - premium audio, parking sensors, heavy duty towbar. Inbuilt child boosters are still handy for friends kids, even though ours are just past them (used when purchased). Power sports seats are standard here - if you have a chance, get them. The most comfortable drivers seat I've experienced in 35 years of driving!

What I'd ditch - yes, I know the 20" Ixion II is pretty, but also a bit silly. 18 or 19" would be better (with the sports suspension)

What I wish I had - back seat passengers would say heated seat (possibly get next time for the softies), radar cruise (if I could) option by itself - BLIS is OK but lane departure warning was turned off every time I entered my loan vehicle)

Having ticked just about every option box, the only ones I would NOT tick the next time are:
1. Front Camera
2. Pano Roof
Everything else will be repeated assuming the new model allows it......

In: Heated rear seats, diesel takes too long to warm up
Out: Nothing

I am glad I didn't get a bag load of driving aids such as BLIS, etc, every other XC60 driver I have met and talked too has turned them off
