Are you from Lancashire?

My memory of Bacup in particular, Bury based on local news, is that the people there had the strongest Lancashire accents in the county and most people had a voice with the depth of Barry White. No wonder the satnav can't cope with it. Maybe you need to ask for a special regional version that can understand Lancastrians (the banana has no relevance but I have not seen anyone use it before and it appealed)

Will let you off the banana :-). it is rather good.
Yes - I am from Lancashire - but not from Bacup - or any of the other places aforementioned- which is perhaps as well otherwise I would never get home .

Just wait to see who else bites on the thread and claims that the satnav understands them perfectly - we might establish some interesting regional trends !

I have never trained the SatNav to my voice but it works incredibly well. The only difficulty seems to be inputting post codes where single letters or digits are spoken. It seems to have a little difficulty with my wife's voice though.

So it has little problem with my male, east of Scotland accent.

I remember Clarkson doing a very funny clip with Mercedes voice activation which consistently failed to recognise what he said and his accent is pretty neutral.

I had a SEAT a few years ago which was pretty good with voice activation. I have a very non descript Cheshire accent so it probably wasn't much of a challenge for it but it did work well, better than Merecedes anyway, ha ha. To be fair I think the touchscreen set ups now are pretty good and user friendly so once you get past the fun and novelty of voice activation it is just as easy to use those as get frustrated by a machine mistakenly hearing what you are trying to say. Boys and toys though....

Fellow Lancastrian here.

However, i do say for example "it isn't in the tin" as opposed to "tint int tin".

I have the analogue display not the digital one. That was another disappointment.

If the car is not exactly as ordered you are within your rights to reject it and demand a new one that is to the specification you ordered.

SE Nav comes with leather as standard, looks to have a decent level of kit, just misisng the active TFT and Xenons. The TFT is a massive loss imo, it makes a huge difference to the driver experience.
