http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-S70-V70-...#ht_500wt_1156 I had another look, and a pick today, they are really knackered. I can get the ebay ones for the middle of my S60 (bracket with 2 supports), but for the bracket at the rear, by the outlet pipe, it only has one rubber support?? And I can not find brackets for the rear??? Anyone?? |

Hi,
Just had a quick look on eBay. First the link you posted is for a phase 1 V70 (pre1999). The V70 P2 and S60 has an elongated pipe and the 'U' bolt allows for this. This is the one for V70 and S60; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-HANGER...item41583b3a43 or this one; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-S60-V70-...item3f02ef4c2c Only find this for the rear hanger; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Genuine-Vo...item3f08d94a1c and its missing the 'U' bolt! You could try a Volvo dealer. They do stock them? Bob. PS I have not used any of the eBay links so use at your own risk!!!

the volvo ones are stainless steel to match the rest of the system , they should have used those from new , The cheap e-bay ones are not, they are mild steel and you will have to change them again in a few years ..

Very true. However, if my previous P1 V70 is anything to judge by, several other, (prohibitively expensive,) items will fail first and a rusting exhaust clamp will no longer be an issue.
For Chiptivo: I got mine via e-bay from Cheltenham Volvo. That was a couple of weeks ago and they were certainly advertising the rear clamp then. Nordic part £14.10 delivered in 3 days.

the last link that bobS has posted looks like one of the brackets that bolts to the car for the exhaust to hang from and not a repair bracket for the exhaust
the only reason i know this is i unbolted them from my car when i put a new centre bracket on last weekend |

I re-welded the original carrier brackets back in 2008, when the car was just 5 years old.
I gave the repair a good coating of zinc-rich paint, and it is still rock solid. As precaution, I wire-brushed and painted the other brackets - as good as new.

Bought 2 replacement galvanised brackets on Ebay for about £30.00, jacked-up the car, axle standed and fitted the new brackets in c.15 minutes. Job done. Simplez.

I bought a set of A4 Stainless steel M10 studs from Screwfix. It cost me £14. I'll heat them up, bend them slightly so they match the shape of the original brackets and then I'll welding them in. I will replace all of the brackets. With A4 steel which is used in marine environment my modified brackets will stay there forever. |
