Engine Remote Start

Volvo have recently made Engine Remote Start available for the UK. This allows customers of specific models to start their vehicle from the comfort of their home, to heat or cool their vehicle. With 'remote engine start' the car's engine can be started remotely using the car key. When the engine is started, the passenger compartment is heated up or cooled down to a comfortable temperature. Maximum running time is 15 minutes. The engine can then be started remotely once more.
The following models can have it:
· Old S60, V60 MY12 to MY18

· Old XC60 MY12 to MY17

· V70 / XC70 MY12 onwards

· S80 MY12 onwards

Must be Automatic

Are the fobs replaced for this or is it just a software enabled function?

Won't be new keys it will just be to enable the app to talk to the car.

Or just from the fob, my Volvo dealer has told me.
