Outside temp gauge
The breaker car I have just bought has the digital temp gauge on the bottom left of dash ( see pics )
IMG_3720.JPG IMG_3722.JPG I quite fancy fitting to my 96 940 but before I pull my dash out does anyone know where the sensor is that measures outside temp ? I cant see it at the front of the car which is where I thought it was supposed to be Also seems to be a hell of a lot of wires coming out of the back of it into a plug. Will that plug be there in my car ? Cheers

On the 360 it is inside the drivers side bumper trumpet so I assume it would be in the same place on the 940.

Just been looking at the Haynes manual and it doesn't seem to mention this sensor[but I may have been looking in totally the wrong place[s].On my P1 V70 the sensor pokes through the engine undertray near font offside.

If you take out the grille in front of the radiator and look down inside and to the right, the outside temp sensor is clipped into the rear of the lower grille, under the bumper.

Looked there but can't see it. Grille and bits around were already removed when I got the car. Must be somewhere as it's working

Funny thing is the horns on this 98 car are mounted in a different place to my 96 car. I think I read somewhere that later model 940's had the sensor mounted in the actual grille. Very strange. I'll have to have a real hunt around the next time I'm up at the car

Theres is no factory fitted sensor unless you have the gauge.. the wiring is all in place ready.. the sensor pushes into a slot lower right pass side, its round... the wires are attached with cable the near the horns.. wiring for the gauge is taped up on the loom with a masking tape.. i fitted one to mine few weeks ago and are really simple to fit. Also early cars arent prewired , i think 92 onwards are.
