Remote Battery
Can someone please assist me, since owning the C30 2008, I've been replacing the battery within the remote, like every 2 weeks use.
I get a warning light appear on the dash, saying low power for the remote battery. and then a couple of days later the battery dies on me. its costing me a small fortune now... anyone experienced this problem before? |

That is extremely unusual, those are replaceable ever few YEARS with heavy use.
1) are you buying decent batteries or those in bulk from "pound shop" ? If so, try a good one, like Duracell alkaline for start 2) is the battery that you are replacing (old) really drained after 2 weeks? can you check with multimeter what voltage it is? 3) is your keyfob in good conditon? no worn-out contact places or anything? maybe there is constant "press" of one of the buttons that make it active all the time? 4) if all above is ok, I have no clue :/

open up the fob, carefully bend the batter terminals, sometimes its a bad connection.
failing that test battery with millimetre should be 3V |

Hi
I think I remember someone saying there are 2 similar batteries that will fit. Are you sure the one fitted is the correct one? I had a remote fob that failed, one of the microswitches inside, mine failed open circuit so that function wouldn't work. If one failed in the operated position it could drain the battery. Do all the switches make a "click" when operated? What about your spare remote, is that the same? Iain |
