Hi, Car will brake normally regularly but at times have to pump the peddle to build up pressure. On releasing pedal there is a suction sound giving impression that it is drawing air. Anyone had the same problem and what was the solution? Thanks John

Not sure what engine you have and if all have this, but mine has vacuum pump that can be heard building from time to time before I start the car. Can be easily triggered by pressing brake pedal few times with car OFF and then inserting a key and putting it to pos2.
again - not sure if your has the same, just a random thought.

~As above
Start by checking the bleed nipples are Closed
Check Pad thickness
Check DISK thickness *1mm per side is the wear limit for the disks , 25mm when brand new - 23mm replace)

Check for fluid leaks
Check that the Flexi RUBBER hoses to each calliper are not
Split
Bulging (get someone to put a foot on the pedal You check the hoses for expanding)
Check brake fluid level
Check Vac hoses ,
check for leaks on the master cylinder + brake fluid reservoir
