Problem S40 Diesel Model 54 Year
(I have since been informed it is the turbo module that is being changed and not the throttle module.)
Does anyone know of a problem on the S40 Diesel model. After the car has run a short distance and is turned off and then returned to after about 10 mins it starts up but as soon as the accelerator is depressed to go it cuts out - there are no revs behind it. The car restarts ok but as soon as the accelerator is touched it dies. The rev counter never registers and just stalls. The car has been towed into the garage time and again and they cannot find a fault. We bought the car approx 10 months ago and the problem started around Dec 05. The car went into the garage this Thurs to be checked over after happening again. Again no fault has been found but they are changing the throttle module on Tues as a precaution. It would be intersting to know if anyone else has had these sort of problems. Last edited by Jan-Alan; Feb 26th, 2006 at 11:05. |

If yours is the 2.0D there does seem to be a problem with this engine. I know two people who drive V50 diesels and both have had starting problems in the cold also a friend has got a Focus C-Max with the same engine and he also has had a problem. I think they are all hoping for some mild weather.
I think I'll stick with my Renault engine for the time being. |
