Default V50 Won't start

Hi all,

My Volvo V50 wouldn't start the other morning, I removed the battery, charged it fully then reinstalled it. The car then worked fine for a few days until this morning when it wouldn't start again. A neighbour kindly jumpstarted it and I managed to get to work.

My question is, do you think this is definitely just a duff battery issue or something more sinister?

Thanks!

If its a 2.0d then chances are alternators diodes are failing and flattening battery when its stood,

Good way to tell is pop bonnet when engines cold and alternator will be warm and smell burn't

You can get battery and alternator checked for free at Halfords.

No lights on the dash whilst you're driving?

Like the battery light?

Granted it was on my Astra, but the battery light came on when the alternator went.
Hopefully if that hasn't appeared on your car, it'll just be the battery.

disconnect battery overnight - if starts ok, then indicates something is drainign the battery. if not, battery.

You'd have thought if an Astra does that then a Volvo with all the errors they throw out at you would showing something for and alternator or battery!
