Arrow C30 D4 dpf remove / replace help...

As per title, can anyone please give advice or how2 guide on how to remove / replace the dpf on my c30 d4? (5 cylinder diesel)

Is it pretty straight forward or is there any cautions i should be aware of? I intend to get it professionally cleaned by a local firm due to getting the "soot filter full" message for the third time! Thrashing it just isn't clearing it out for very long anymore!

Are you doing a lot of very short journeys?
Your DPF will need to have the temp and differential sensors disconnected before removal - its connected to the downpipe/catalytic and the centre section which leads to the rear section of the exhaust.

If you're going to these lengths then you might as well clean it yourself with a pressure washer.

No, i do quite lengthy commutes. But I've only owned it a year so can't vouch for its previous miles. It's on 89k now so I'm not surprised it's getting this way.

Is it quite straight forward to remove then? I've not even looked at it yet if I'll be honest! Just wanted to have a heads up for when i get chance to Jack it up.

Odd, the 5-cylinders don't usually have DPF issues...

But yeah should be fairly straight forward, disconnect sensors, then the bolts either side of the DPF - can be quite heavy, like most - the job is best done on a ramp.

Before you remove the DPF for cleaning are you sure the systems around it are in good working order, the DPF pressure differential pipes may be blocked / leaking or there maybe an induction leak downstream of the MAF sensor causing over fuelling & hence faster clogging of the DPF. As said it is unusual to have DPF problems on the 5 cylinder diesels, if you're doing longish journeys then it shouldn't be a problem.

Is there a way of easily checking the differential pipes for clogs whilst the dpf is in situ?
