Default 2008 C70 Noise from Rear Left

I have a noise from the rear left area of my C70 when going over bumps/rough surfaces. I'm wondering is it the shock absorber top mount. Has anyone had similar from this area. Car is 11 years old with 109,000 miles on the clock.

Noises can be so difficult to pin down.

From personal experience in my V50 the top mounts were to blame for a thumping / dull thud noise over bumps, rough ground.

That said, I had a knock noise which was most prominent when going round corners which turned out to be the drop links.

This might give you something to look at first... hope it helps...

It's a strange noise. It sounds like something is loose but I've had the wheel off tonight and can't see anything obvious.
Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely check the drop links.

Turns out the knocking was the rear shock absorber. Changed it today and had a look at the other side, but the top mount bolts were extremely tight. Given they're only a 10mm socket I was afraid of snapping them off. I guess a bit of heat might help but has anyone had experience of removing these bolts without snapping them?
