S40 (New) Body : Leaking front windscreen

Hello!

My 2011 S40 has developed two water leaks on the front windshield, driver side. The symptoms are: two little streams of water are flowing down from the top left of the front windscreen. This always happenes after pressure-washing the car, but sometimes it also happenes from rain.

I took a quick look at the seal, but can see no appearent issue. Did anyone else have this issue and has tips on fixing it?

Do you have sunroof? They often have issues with drains

No sunroof in my car.

Then its most likely windscreen seal.
Unfortunateley my expirience with these things ends with a very old car (from 70's) which had similar problem, in the end it was solved by removing the windscreen and replacing the seal.

Maybe somebody else can suggest something good!

Stand outside the car with the door open and push the windscreen out from the inside where you see the water ingress. If it moves at all your seal is broken and the screen needs removal and refitting or replacement.

I noticed my wife's 2013, 40,000 mile C30 has a slight leak when I clean it (mains pressure hose on fan setting) - several trickles of water run down inside the passenger side from the top. Screen is still the original. Was there ever a recall on these as there was with V70 screens that were badly bonded from the factory? Or is it an Autoglass (or similar) job?

Seems to be a bit hit or miss as far as dealer attitude is concerned. Some owners have had better outcome than others. When I was in a similar spot last autumn I sidestepped a possible dealer repair and opted for a local specialist due to time constraints. All good so far.
The caveat seems to be that if the screen breaks during removal the owner picks up the tab for the new screen.

I had the same on my S40 (2009). Before Christmas i noticed a few drops of water on top of the steering wheel and then the day after the horn was constantly going off all by itself! Water ingress had caused it to constantly stay on.

I used some windscreen silicone and initially this worked well but a few weeks ago I noticed water coming in again through the front interior light. The garage I take our cars to for MOT and servicing got the windscreen company they use to take it out and re glue. Everything is nice and dry now. It cost me £150.

Take off the driver and passenger floor door trims, pull up the carpet enough to get your hand under and have a good feel in the footwells for moisture. There was some on the passenger side in my S40 but luckily I caught the leak early so no damage was done to the electrical board in that area. I used a load of kitchen roll to soak it out of the foam then propped a small piece of wood underneath and left it to dry out over the period of a week.
