Default Infocentre stalk button not working???

Hi Guys,

I had a quick search on this one but can't find anything - hence the reason for the question:

The Infocentre button on the end of the indicator stalk (V70 T5 SE 2001) appears to have stopped working. Normally, when pressed, the Infocentre displays "You have 0 message(s)" - it now doesn't change from the infomation already displayed (MPG etc...).

Previous to this, the rotary selector was a bit dodgy, in so much that it inconsistently changed through the options available. I sprayed a little switch cleaner into the rotary mechanism and rotated it a few times - this is now fine.

I'm now wondering if I shifted some muck from the rotary switch up behind the button on the end of the stalk, as the button still seems ok when pushed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible to dismantle the stalk and clean it properly?

I was hoping to be able to run at least one whole tank of fuel through it before it had to go to the garage AGAIN!!!

Thanks for your help....

Laurence
