Default S60 Geartronic - towing?

Hi all,

I have just purchased a '54 D5 s60 SE (34k) with the geartronic gearbox. This will the 1st car I have ever driven with a semi-auto box and my question is this: I regulary tow a caravan(1400kg), and was wondering if , in fully automatic mode the gearbox is comfortable in pulling off up hills and so forth, or it is best to use the geartronic option. the reason i ask is when pulling off on hills with a manual you are able to control power to the wheels by slipping the clutch. does the geartronic software allow for this? many thanks for any advice

Hi,

Auto boxes are great for towing.
Geartronic is a form or auto box.

You will not need to worry about clutch slipping etc when taking off, on the level or up hills. Just drive and enjoy...

Its a conventional auto gearbox , all the "Geartronic" does is allow you SOME control of the change points .. i cant see much point in it ,

If your using it regularly fit an oil cooler to the gearbox.
