Loads of WD40 and you need to bang on that iron shoe with a rubber hammer, if you don't have one then use a regular hammer but cushion with a piece of wood, then at times grasp that Mcpherson with both hands at the spring tray and turn it one direction then the other...btw it's better not to undo the three bolts up in the tower untill you get the cylinder out of the socket, and you should do one wheel/side at a time with the other side with wheel on on the ground!!

Or you could try to outstrech those two holes apart through which the bolt goes, if you have such a tool that is, i didn't.

I have been on my knees today all day just fitting a pair of new front shocks "Kayaba Excel G" so i know exactly what your going through, i'm sore and aching all over. wait untill you have to reinstall back in the socket! then the fun begins... again WD40, start with the upper tower mount but don't tighten those 3 bolts yet, let the Mcpherson hang freely at first...
