Now that the 240 is run in!
Evening all
As previously stated in earlier posts my 240 SE had only done 86000 miles (documented) when I bought it in May. As its now 'run in' I figured that I should begin using it as it should be. Mileage for this week stands at 1700 miles - I drove back to Berkshire today from the Isle of Skye - 650 miles over 15 hours without missing a beat and not a drop of oil used! Mileage now stands at 92800 - so still very low. Im so pleased with its performance I just had to share this! Regards Ian |

RE: Now that the 240 is run in!
Hi Ian glad you're enjoying your new aquistion. They are a joy for long distance motoring.
Don't know whether you know the story of my 87 245GLT - acquired Jan last year (a gift) converted to lpg and started using mid Feb -first 11 months saw just under 35k on the clock and since MOT in Jan have covered about 28-9k now past the 260k mark. My best long journey was towing my 240 trailer Anglesey-Scotland-Anglesey-Dover France 1100+ miles in 30hours (2pm Thurs - 8pm Fri) That included a nights sleep (3hrs) + ferry. During my ownership it has gone through quite a bit of overhaul esp suspension to set it up for many more miles. It is due another little trip to France soon unless I take one of my other 240s. Carry on enjoying! We're here to support you! Mike

RE: Now that the 240 is run in!
Thanks for that Mike.
Goodness me - 260K! Its good to know that such high mileages can be achieved as I want to keep mine for as long as possible. Re you last comment - I have found this forum a great help in the short time Ive been using it. I regularly use a number of forums relating to other interests and they are not a patch on this one!
