Does your R-design have the side skirts at the bottom of the doors? Apparantly Volvo says the side steps don't fit because of these side skirts, however someone on this forum posted photos of both fitted, so it looks like it is possible

I recalled this thread today when I was in my local showroom so took a look at an R-Design XC90 with these side skirts and it looked like it may be a bit tight but I'm guessing the Volvo side steps would fit. The ones on my XC leave a gap to the sills that looks just big enough for these side skirts.

Has anyone got these?

They look OK but opinions would be welcome.

looking at the photos - it looks like one of the mounting points is different to where the original Volvo steps mount. The third photo - the bolts are secured to what lokks like the floor pan - the orignals secure to the pair of bolts to the right in the picture ?
They don't look bad though although I've not seen them in the metal anywhere.

Cheers
Ian.

I fitted a set of Volvo originals (2nd Hd) after my two kids found it VERY difficult to get in and out of the 3rd row of seats. They are the absolute dog's danglies, provide real support for folk climbing in/out of the car and have been an absolute boon to me when cleaning the XC...

That only illustrates the advantages of having steps, not WHICH steps...

The steps pictured in that Ebay listing don't look anywhere near as robust as the Volvo items and the brackets look positively feeble (IMHO). Much more pertinent though, is the fact that my 2nd Hd (real good condition though) Volvo items actually cost less than the eBay listed items...

Your call, I suppose... Have you tried Partfinder UK for a 2nd Hd pair..?
