Default Reduced Guard Indications V90 CC 2018

All of my previous Volvos had some indication the reduced guard was working on the alarm. On my new V90 CC 2018 I am concerned there is no indication other than the selection on the console that the reduced guard is operating. My next test will be leaving the dog in the car for a minute or so, however, I would have thought there would be a message on the display showing it was selected. Am I missing something?

I haven't found any indicators of the reduced guard function either, but I can comfirm that it works. Regulary taking a ferry ride, the alarm will set off quite often if not in reduced mode, so it definitly works.

I think the lack of indication is by design though. Having a visual indicator showing the reduced alarm level from outside the car might not be the best idea after all.

Doesn’t a message briefly pop up in the drivers display when you shut the car off and open the drivers door?

Exactly.. I’ve had several cars with reduced guard-like feature- none of them had such indicator..

The reduced alarm function of our XC70 was activated with a "real" button.
A small green light lit up when the function was pressed, but it went off when the key was removed.
Still the same in our XC90, although it's now via a "virtual" button. I don't see the problem.
