When something's good, it's good, isn't it? That is, the behaviours are displayed by lots of people, not just an individual.

MK Volvo haven't returned my call of a couple of hours ago.

Northampton Volvo couldn't be more different: straight through, helpfulness, a quote of £25 to upgrade the system, and an offer of a loan car because the car will be needed all day.

Let me consider for a nanosecond where I might be taking my wife's XC70.
To rudely quote myself by way of correction...

I've just booked to have the software updated so I can do the foc map updates. £53.28 (the £25 is per map load, were you wanting them to do that for you, too)

Still a third of the quote from Oxford V.

Glad to hear that my colleagues were able to look after you on this

They were indeed. Night and day, truly night and day across 3 dealerships.

MK - never called back
OX - £150 please after multi-chases
NN - £53 and some pence, plus £25 if you'd like us to update your maps, but you can do it yourself for free after the update, which might be more convenient sir. That'll be Charlotte (IIRC), please pass on my thanks

OK, Holly I think - I've misremembered my nieces' names as I have both a Holly & a Charlotte & I knew it was one of them!

Well my XC60 has been in again today for the Sensus system to be investigated.
Volvo swapped out the 'IHU' module from another XC60, put it in mine, and all worked fine.

For me to get the IHU replaced is going to cost £1395!

My advise at the moment, if you dont want the potential of a big bill, dont update the maps yourselves, because even when Volvo's own software validates your download, the car accepts it and updates and even says the update has been completed........

Theres still the possibility of it majorly screwing up your car, and 'Volvo' themselves (I'm not talking about the dealership now as they have tried to help as much as possible) have absolutely no interest in helping or even replying to message and tickets raised with their customer service department.

After being a Volvo owner for around 15 years now, I feel let down.

If it's a tabby cat, I'm ok with that. If it's a bit leopardy, I could be in jeopardy!

Maybe a bit late now, but did you miss this post from a week or so ago?

Then disconnected the battery for a couple of hours. Then downloaded the full European maps onto a new USB stick. Then uploaded onto my system and it works. I have lost all my 'previous destinations' which I use when driving through Europe but that's nothing in the grand scheme of things. I am spending more time over in Cambridgeshire and the work was done my Marshall's at Peterborough - so thanks guys.

Are there particular model years that are affected?
