Default 1998 V70R 2WD Nivomat delete

Hi all,

Ditching my knackered Nivomat with Bilstein B4 and Kilen springs plus all new top mounts etc all round.

I had a thought. On the Nivomat rear springs, the lower spring retaining cup is different to the non-Nivomat. The cup on the non-Nivomat appears to be about half the height to the Nivomat ones.

The non-Nivomat rear spring retainers are crazy at around £131 per side! The Nivomat ones however are around £14.

Do you have to use the non-Nivomat rear spring retaining cups when changing to non-Nivomat springs?

Answers appreciated.

Not sure of the differences in the spring arrangement but imagine you'll get travel if you use Nivomat caps with non Nivomat springs.

European Tuning include the caps in their convertion kit: https://www.europeantuning.com/Nivom...55-V70-1992-99

And the anchorage cap: https://www.europeantuning.com/Rear-...70-2WD-3546435

Hi NewbieV70T5

I guess your T5 is FWD?

Can you point me to a source or part number for the Nivomat spring caps?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, go to the Parts for Volvo website - all part numbers on there.
