Where can I buy 164 HT leads from please?
Hello, does anyone know where in the U.K. I can get a set of leads from for my 164? I've done an internet search and there aren't any on ebay at present.
Thanks a lot, Simon |

Get some copper-cored HT cable from a classic supplier (plenty of choice) and make your own up. Don't try and get a set of the silicone-with-carbon-string horrors such as modern cars are afflicted with, make some real ones.

Thanks Pigeon. I see there's plenty of this cable on ebay. Regarding the set on my car at present, four leads measure roughly 7.5K ohms and two are virtually open circuit but it still fires on all six cylinders but I haven't looked at the individual sparks. If I make my own cables up I can use the old connectors at the distributor end but, forgive me my ignorance, can I use any standard cap for the plugs or do they have to have a resistor? I am also going to replace the plugs at the same time (NGK BP7ES Bosch equivalent W5DC).
Thanks a lot, Simon |

I've just ordered the cable and caps. I don't have a radio in the car but the new caps do have a resistor. Looking forward to seeing an improvement.
Thanks again, Simon |
