Hi Paul,

I'm halfway through pulling out the cabling. My car still has the three relays on the RH (driver's side) inner wing, which look like they are all for the FI (FI main, Cold Start and Fuel pump), which from your photo were already removed on your car. Thanks for this. Gives me the confidence to pull those units from my car!

So...the main cable harness joins to these and then there is another section of harness which seems to chase over to the passenger (LH) side of the engine bay. Previous owner has neatly, but unhelpfully bound the whole lot together as it enters the harness on that side.

Would it be possible for you to post another pic of the harness, stretched out in roughly the form it was on the car? Just to give me the confidence as I wrecklessly rip out cabling.

Also, I see from the wriring diagram that there are a couple of wires going to the starter motor from the ECU. Did you encounter these?

Many thanks in advance!

HI SL,

I found that the cable going to the passer side had, I think 4 cables in the wiring loom, this then joins the passer side electrics. I had one go to the battery direct(green) a brown and yellow and black/white into fuse box, but because they were so tight counldnt trace right back to the fuse box, sorry if its a bit vague all the cables are now gone on mine, please PM me and we can maybe talk this through on the phone if you like
Also didn't encounter the wires to the starter motor you talk about

The connection going to the starter would be for the cold start injector, unlike the main injectors, the cold start injector runs directly off 12V. Later cars utilised a thermo timer switch to bypass the 12V signal if the engine temperature was warm enough to prevent flooding the engine during warm starts.
