electronic speedo in early dash, any advice please?

I had that very thing - a tested set up in another car failed to work in mine, but did work backwards. I just swapped the sensor wires over under the back seat.

Swapped at diff cover, still no joy.
Had a look at the L connector and the answer was there all the time-the sensor wire and earth are in different places depending on year. a bit of swapping and it works.
Thanks again, and as ever, think simple when there is a snag.

It's often the simple things easily overlooked that cause the biggest grief Jim! Glad you got it sussed anyway!
