All season tyres on 20" rim (35 profile)
Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2018 V60 (the SPA version) which has 20" wheels, as specced by the original owner. They look great and I'm happy with the ride, however, I can't seem to find any All Season tyres available in the right size from any of the online places (Black Circles, Tyres on the drive, Asda Tyres and so on). They are 245/35/R20 95 W. Posting in this general section in case anyone with the same size of tyre can advise if the have found any in the UK. |

If not I see that there are plenty of winter tyres available at a lesser cost...would that be a more economical way, mothballing your summer tyres and in turn getting more miles out of them? As for "Ouch", yes I thought the same... There will be cheaper out there, just got find it them out... https://www.camskill.co.uk/m217b0s11..._2_Noise:_71dB Last edited by 37 RUBY; Oct 23rd, 2020 at 13:59. |

I did do that to check the Crossclimate as they seem to be the "go to" AS tyre, but no joy.
I'd rather not have the hassle of swapping between different sets of wheels and don't really have room to store them. Also, "proper" snow down here on the South Coast is pretty rare but I think the AS tyres would be good to improve traction in wet and cold conditions, which we do get plenty of. I appreciate they can take the edge of summer handling, but that's really not how I drive! In the long run, I was wondering if it would be worth changing to 18" or 19" wheels but when I look on the Volvo accessories website for a MY2019 V60, nothing is listed. Excuse my ignorance but I have never previously considered changing wheels on a car so I don't know what to look for. A quick look shows differing measurements for width, offset and central bore and I have no idea what is suitable. |

OK, so it seems that websites selling wheels have a compatibility checker (yes, we all knew that already, I hear you say).
Would changing the wheels invalidate the warranty? |

I meant tyres only. Some firms store your summer tyres for winter and vice versa for the summer period. |

It does appear that the rim size is the issue that lessens your choice. The key thing for tyres that we want to operate in all weather's is the temperature operating range of the rubber. One other idea would be to pick a tyre that excels in rain. My father runs Uniroyal Rainsports on his aged Suzuki Vitara and until the recent warm winter's we've been experiencing, used to go out in snow storms taking photos. He has never been stuck in Snow or ice. Anyway shall leave you alone now. Tyres are a very personal and subjective purchase. |

I had a set of Rainsport 2s on my old 850R - I was the only non 4x4 to regularly make it into work during the bad winter of 2010.
You may be limited size wise, but if you want a fairly scientific test of all season tyres, then have a look at tyrereviews.co.uk. I've just bought a set of Hankook Kinergy 4S2 off the back of his review - https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Articl...-Tyre-Test.htm
