Default scrapping a 440 nr york

About to finally scrap a tired white 440 - if any specific bits excluding engine parts are needed I can see if they are still available.

Default Parts

Hi,

What year/phase model is this please? I am after headlamp wiper motors which I understand are the same for phase I and II, but would possibly be interested in headlamp units if phase II. I'm really after the adjusters but fear that they become brittle and can't be removed intact, hence consider the whole units.
I'm also after the end cap for the rear o/s (not sure if they are handed) black roof trims that run entirely from the front of the windscreen to top of the rear screen. Only want the cap, not the whole length if possible please.
I'm in Wiltshire so post/courier I'm afraid.
Thanks

Sorry its now gone.

But I did keep the headlights but not the wiper motors and yes the adjusters do become brittle; so probably worth getting new from volvo; I bought some new a few years back now; assume they will still be available.

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately they are not still available. I understand that when Ford took over, they ditched all the spares because their spares policy is a lot shorter than Volvo's policy....
Hopefully one day someone may be able to 3D print them, I believe some cars have failed their MoT because of this

I'll have a look later when I am back with both cars - so I apologise in advance if this turns out to be an exercise in generating false hope! - but if the 440 headlight adjusters are the same small, nylon/plastic fittings as the 480, it turns out that certain BMWs have the same ones, and still readily available.

Try a search on the 480-europe forum for headlight adjusters - you might yet have a solution available! In fact, here you go:

Best

Thanks David. I must admit that I didn't think the 480 lights were the same, only that the 440 phase 1 and II were the same.

No, the lights themselves are quite different but I wondered whether the adjuster screw/nut set up might be the same...

...however I have now checked 440 and 480 and, sadly, they're not.

Seem to be a few light units for sale on ebay though? Anyway, good luck with your hunt!

David
