Default Problems with Nav - 2013 V70

Probably not the first to ask this. I've just become the owner of a very nice 2013 Volvo V70 and it's great, apart from the annoying Nav system. When I select Nav it somes up "please wait" and after a few minutes it says "Installation Failed. Eject Disc, reinsert to try again" (see pictures). I have 2 boxed sets of discs marked "Volvo HDD RTI" and I've tried every one and none has made any difference. I've also tried a USB with a map update, but with the same result. In "Settings" the Navigation system version is "Greyed out" and so gives no information. I not really bothered about using the in car Nav as I usually use Google but it's annoying having the same message pop up. Any ideas please?
Thanks in advance

Can't advise you on how to get the discs to load but I can tell you that uploading maps from a thumb drive via the USB socket is only possible once you have had a system upgrade from Volvo for which they charge you about £60. The bad news is that Volvo are ceasing to support the maps for the Sensus system and even if you had the system upgrade, you would only have one further map after the current latest one. I suppose you might consider it worthwhile bring the maps up to date for £60 or so but after that you'd be back in the same boat as you are now.

The fact that it doesn't display any version at all is due to a map update being in progress. Normally, you can see the GPS information and software/map version, but not the update status. Now you probably have the update progress info but no software version info.

If none of the disks you have can resume the update, neither can a downloaded update, then I don't know what you're supposed to do. Perhaps a Volvo dealer can reset the update?

From the pictures and the age of your car you have the Sensus 2011 system which was introduced in 2010.

You could try disconnecting the battery overnight to see if that allows the system to reset.

Before the battery disconnect make sure that everything has been switched off for about 30 minutes to allow the systems to” go to sleep”.

As stated above the only update available now is the 2018 one which you have to download from the Volvo support website. BefOre you can load it to the car you need to have the Sensus system upgraded at a Volvo dealer.

The is one more map update which is due any time now.

Volvo Sweden now states the next update will come "2020, late".

Default Problems with Sat Nav

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have tried some more install discs, without success, and the local dealer wants £99 just to diagnose the system (no gurantee of success !). Can anyone suggest somewhere in Lincolnshire, that can do the job (for a fee, obviously) please ? Strict Covid rules only.
