Default Exterior trim clips

Good evening all,

Does anyone know how these things are supposed to work they are baffling me!

One of the trims under the rear quarter window needs fitting and it has clips but they just don’t grab the holes in the body I have new ones but can’t figure out how they are supposed to work, does the stalk on the back push through the clip after it’s inserted in the hole if so how do I then fit the trim because the clips won’t fit the trim with the stalk poking out it’s back?

Thanks Doug.

These? Fit the square end to the trim and then push the pointy end through the holes. Seal from the inside to stop water getting in.

Sorry I tried to upload a picture of the clip I have, and it’s not these one, mine are white plastic as per the Brookhouse website shows for late model side trims!
I have these clips already holding the waistline trims on I’m talking about the thin side trims below the widows!

Doug.

Those plastic clips you have are for the Volvo 140 and 164 side trims, which won't fit the Amazon. Maybe a bit of a communications glitch?

Brookhouse website says also late 2 door Amazons. No idea if that is correct.

Excellent, thank you, I had a feeling that was how they worked but didn’t want to try until I was certain as they look as though they are a one shot deal!

I was guessing that the OP was talking about the trim that is adjacent to the window and not the waistline trims. If so there are two types of these. The early ones are more like a rivet. The trim/clips/holes in body have to match to get the strip to fit properly.
