Default Courtesy cars not provided by main dealer?

Just booked mine in for a service in September and the dealer says no courtesy cars due to c19 regulations. They also put all their drivers on home leave so no collections either. They want me to sit and wait and they will not even commit to do it in half a day as they take it offsite in the afternoon for MOT and frankly I think they only did one out of my prior four services on the same day - usually some emergency would happen and they would ask to bring it next day.
So I am quite apprehensive that they will waste me a day or perhaps even make me leave and come back again.
Do people experience same issues with their dealers or should I just go to another dealership?

Same with my dealer , the car is booked in for the middle of September, no collection or courtesy car. Luckily enough I’ve got the time to drop the car off the day before (wife will follow me in her car) .

If you're based in London you hardly have a choice - AFAIK all dealerships are part of the same network.

So you will have to look further afield...

I’m trying to see if this is just my network trying to save costs or if everyone in the same boat. There is a non-network one near me.

Sentinel in Tottenham picked up and delivered my car when it went in for its service in June. Don’t know if things have changed since then.

Thought the ‘Volvo Service Promise was to arrange arrange alternative transport’?
My local dealer provided a courtesy car only last month, although there is now a £10 cost to cover insurance.

My Local dealer in Hinckley, Leicestershire is still providing courtesy cars, fully sanitised as part of their routine COVID precautions, free of charge. I'd shop around a bit if I were you.

My dealer in Inverness loaned me a courtesy cars when my XC90 was in for service, and my XC40 for the Emergency Brakes software recall. They are part of the Arnold Clark Group and have always let me have one FOC.

My car has been in to Stoneacre in Chesterfield several times in the last month and a courtesy car has been provided each time no problem - not even any charge for the insurance which I was expecting to pay. As long as the cars are sanitised each time I can’t see any issues with providing a car.
