I don't see why people pay extra for detachable brackets - with a fixed one present you reduce your risks of bumper damage from others careless parking.....
I didn't find the detachable version that much more & in my opinion a lot neater.

Fair point about protecting your bumper though. When we are away with the caravan and parking in lots of strange places I usually leave it on for that reason. The rest of the time I take the risk for sake of good looks.

Vanity wins!

Just fitted our own Towsure flange head towbar. 10/T25 torx screws in the wheel arches and 2/8mm bolts in the bumper.

Dropped the exhaust hangers to give room for hands and ratchets and an hour later it was done.

Bumper cut is small discrete and easy, 80mm wide by 180mm tall. 90 seconds with a junior hacksaw.

It may sound daunting but if you can competently thread nuts on to bolts its well within ones ability's.

Electrics from Volvo parts shop, with dstc unit are expensive but I am sure were worth while. All vehicle specific looms are plug and play now, its as easy as plugging the DVD player into the TV.

If your fit and healthy and own a torque wrench do it yourself £225 all in.
