Default What way round do these go ?

Hi, the window winders on my 71 1800E were missing the conical spring and the metal cup (see pic) and were just the winder, the clip and the plastic ring that had been silicone onto the back of the winder. I now have the spring and the metal cup .......... but where do they go ... behind the trim ? Or in front of the trim ? And what way round does the conical spring fit, widest end door side or narrowest end door side ? I can't seem to get the combination correct ?? Thanks.

charlski;

Omega clips pop into their slot from side away from winder.
Semi-clear washer goes between Handle and black piece, to decrease friction (Handle turns and black piece often does not as it is in contact with Door Panel/Card) and spring goes between Door Panel/Card, and Door and preloads everything to minimize rattles and gaps. That's how I remember it anyway...double check on exploded assembly diagrams.

Good Hunting!

And the spring with small end goes on doorside so the big end allows for movement and does not touch a part near winder back but !
The spring goes behind the car door panel so it pushes the door card forward spring loaded towards the winder then so it goes

Spring as mentioned above small end door side behind door card .
Then assemble door winder as Ron said

Kind regards

Ok trying to put window winders back on, and the omega clips don't seem man enough to hold them in place with the spring now behind the door card, not sure if they are worn but ordered some more from brookhouse anyway, ive read that on the earlier models you just push them onto the spindle once placed on the winder with a sharp thump. But is this the same method for my 71E as they held for a couple of turns of the winder, then pinged off ..... or is there another method ????
