Cold Starting
I noticed since the temp has dropped to the -degC for the first time this year my engine still starts first turn but sounds like its idling a little slower (only very noticible) for about half a second then picks up to normal (it could be a miss for a couple of revolutions)?
Im being very picky but wasnt sure if this is just a glow plug problem or its just a little lazy for a second. If its a glow plug thing how often should they be changed any recommendations genuine / bosch etc? nothing in the book really. Old indirect injection engines this used to be a common change not sure about the D5? |

Any engine will turn a bit slower when its cold, think of the oil sitting in the bottom, as its colder it becomes thicker hence stiffens the engine, its like you trying to run through syrup compared to water, it will slow you down, plus the fuel will ignite better at a higher temp HTH
