Well the garage plugged it into his device( not sure what he uses) although it ran through all the checks ok when he tried to do anything other than that it kept saying communication error.

So his advice was to go to volvo, which I've now booked for next thursday. Fingers crossed it's only a small problem as they want £172 + vat for the pleasure .

I'll keep you posted .

Well the cure for transport/factory mode was to unplug and refit cem unit, remotes then worked as they should, unfortunately I know have a list of srs faults the length of a baby to get sorted.

Default Unplug and refit cem , and that worked , Really? ?,

Unplug and refit cem , and that worked , Really? ?, i must have unplugged mine 5 times . it never worked for me ...

When you had your problems , did your alarm function or not ?

Ive removed alarm SCM , and checked battery , and charged independently, which seems healthy , but i have a Cem - 6C30 code now on the alarm ,

im , looking at a key now , or fitting an after market alarm..

the plot thickens ..

My dash showed transport/factory mode when I turned ignition on, once I started it , it would say transport mode paused.
And no my alarm wouldn't work as I couldn't lock it.

Unplugging was all volvo told me they did but I suspect theres more to it,
Now I need someone local that can plug it in and sort airbag light and reset CD player.

Now that it locks and all remote functions work, the alarm is fine.

Ah ok , so car actually reported it being on. That was the critical detail I was missing . I'll do some more digging ... Now suspecting a connectivity issue.. thanks again
