Default Reaplacement parts not available for new XC60

Hi. I am the owner of an 15 month XC60. My car has been sat at the dealers for 2 months awaiting the suppply by Volvo of a replacement wiring loom. The original one is scrap due to water ingress in the passenger footwell. Volvo have now told the dealer that it will be a further 2 months before a loom can be supplied. So a one 9ish)year old car will be off the road for more than 4 months due to Volvo unable to support its customers or dealers. I am going to have to trade in the car as faith in the brand has been shaken, not only a faulty car but inability to fix it in a reasonable time...I really didnt think that Volvo was such a unprofessional manufacturer ,,I thought that their Brand meant something about quality. The dealer mentioned that months waiting for replacement parts was nothing unusual.....so it looks like i will be going back to Audi. Anyone else had issues re replacement parts?

That's very strange, that's the 3rd XC60 with a faulty wiring loom today. 😸

What's with the three threads?!?

Simple fact of the matter is they wont keep that kind of part on a shelf...anywhere; it will be made to order.

Leaving aside the fact that now there are three cars off the road it becomes worthwhile making up some spare looms ...

...it seems to me that Volvo are prioritising new cars over an existing customer. They must be making a constant supply of new looms - to install in new cars. Yet it would appear that they are not prepared to divert one of those looms to help get an existing owner back on the road.

I wasn't aware there were three cars off the road. I thought the OP had posted the same post three times.

As for diverting a loom, these factories run a just in time schedule, so diverting a loom would completely disrupt the line. So a separate order has to go to whoever makes the looms, and they have to add it to their schedule.
