Default Throttle Position Sensor??

Hi all,

I have an ongoing issue where there is a bit of a hesitation when accelerating and going into limp mode. My VIDA DICE pointed this to a fault with the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor - took it too AutoFix North East when the car got serviced and MoT last month and they replaced the full pedal at the cost of £200.

However, the issue still occurs and read that it could be the Throttle Position Sensor on the throttle body....can I heck find the same sensor for my S40 1.6 Petrol (attached image), especially as it looks like a relatively quick and easy fix.

I spoke to AutoFix who advised that the sensor is part of the throttle body which will also need replaced...at the cost of £750!!!

Ok - has anyone experienced the same? Or know if they are talking bollocks or I do actually need the full throttle body replaced too?

I am going to hook up the VIDA at the weekend to see if it generate further errors since the pedal was replaced.

Is this even the right sensor??

there are options to reset and calibrate the accelerator and throttle body position sensor. Even at the volvo dealer that wouldn't be too expensive.

Otherwise, get a used throttle body. 750 gbp for a throttle body sounds way to hight. I was able to get one from a local used carparts dealer for 65. Very easy to install yourself!

Great, I will look into both of those options - I did have a look at used throttle bodys on ebay but the sensor looks different to the one in the picture....will keep looking though

Okay

Does an RPM drop while you are accelerating? (When you feel the power loss between 40-70 mph)
And this occurs only when you are accelerating lightly like 2k constant or a bit accelerating throttle..?
