Default 2005 S40 Hazards Flashing when parked

I'm sat at work and someone from next door came in saying my Hazards were flashing.

Went to the car and unlocked and no Alarm had been triggered so I'm confused. I locked/unlocked a few times and it's not happened since (2hrs) it's making me wonder if this has been happening before or during the night and I don't know about it.

I've noticed recently when I lock the car the Hazards don't flash instantly but maybe a second later which is unusual behavior.

Any thoughts?

sure you got all your doors closed properly when leaving the car?

If i havent closed some of mine properly it doesnt really lock properly and does a weird hazard flash I think. I will have to check again and get back here.

This has moved on a bit, yesterday I got back to the car and the display read: ALARM TRIGGERED - CHECK CAR or something.

I've dealt with this by turning off the interior sensors, that'll teach it

Bit bothered that it's the Siren Unit though, we'll see.

I had a similar problem which was fixed under warranty. Other threads in this forum suggest that leaving wifi enabled devices in the car can trigger the alarm.

It might be worth spraying a bit of silicone or grease into the door latches. There is a microswitch/sensor in some that might randomly sense that the door is open even though it's not causing interior lights ect to come on. It has happened with my c70(solved by lubing the door catches) and I guess it might trigger the alarm?
