Ecm-c326
Volvo V50 2.0D se 2008. Just rebuilt the engine after cam belt stripped its teeth. I have turned the engine over to build oil pressure, OK. Then bleed the fuel system, OK. Charged the battery up, the next day it was dead. Bought a new battery fitted it. I get the message “immobiliser, try start again”. Checked for codes using Vida DiCE and the code that keeps coming back is ECM-C326 Control Module Communication Signal Missing. I’d like to have this issue remedied at home is that asking for too much?

What I’ve done so far.
Hi all, just to state what I’ve tried so far, here are the things I’ve found.
When stripping the engine down obviously various connections to components were broken in taking it apart and these actions were registered as possible errors with codes that related to the specific modules that these components send signals to. So when I connected the computer with VIDA software on it and the DiCE tool to the car, after reading all the modules around 40 or 50 errors came up. Having trawled through each of them and deciding that most of them were due to being disconnected whilst fixing the engine, I deleted them all. Then reading all the modules again the code I started this post about kept appearing which coincided with the warning that I had on the dash board regarding the “immobiliser try start again”. So once all this was present I looked through many of the other posts on here relating to the same issue and the conclusion that I’m coming to is that the ECM has lost its signal, my understanding of this is that when you insert the key into the ignition the CEM and ECM both have a code that if it is the same then they will let you start the car, if not then then you get the message “Immobiliser try start again” which is what I’m getting. When reading the suggestions given on here like checking the connections to the CEM etc, I’ve tried all of these and still no joy. So this is leading me to think that what is required is that the software for the ECM needs reloading. However as I haven’t had the engine running since I’ve built it back up, I’ve only managed to turn it over to check the oil pressure is up, I’ve still got a few more things to do before it’s ready so that is why I’ve asked in the previous post whether asking for it to be remedied at home is too much to ask. Does anyone have an opinion on all this? |
