Service Light Reset Denso Cars: What you're not told
Resetting the Service reminder indicator (SRI), model years 1999
This post applies to late Denso 1999 P80 cars only: Service light issues. Not the Check Engine Light, which is a different thing. I don't usually worry about my Service Light(SRI). if it's lit it's lit. I'd service my car, light or not. I reset the light to save the bulb as much as anything. I would go through the sequence and still my (SRI) would be back on next time I got in the car. Then, I found this... The service reminder indicator (SRI) informs the driver that it is time for the car to be serviced. The lamp remains lit for 120 seconds when the ignition is switched on. Note! If the lamp flashes, it may be because one of the service parameters has not been programmed. Proceed as follows to reset the service reminder indicator (SRI): 1) Ignition position I 2) Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer 3) Ignition position II 4) The service reminder indicator (SRI) starts flashing when the reset button for the trip odometer has been pressed for 10 seconds 5) Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 5 seconds. Note! If the trip meter reset button is not released within 5 seconds the indicator is not reset. However the indicator will stop flashing. That last bit [5] was the thing I was missing, and the point omitted from every set if instructions and YouTube video I have ever read on resetting your (SRI) on these late cars. Now it works...

Thanks Martin, worked a treat.
The CNG/LPG Volvo is now being used daily and runs like a champ. Went down to Exeter and back on £30 of lpg so it's dead cheap to run as well. |

So, let me have this straight...
The car I said can't possibly exist, ever, simply because in RHD form it is has to be one of the rarer Volvos in the world, now drives to Exeter? This can't be. This doesn't stop me regretting not grabbing this figment of your imagination. Sort the PCV (with 5/8" tube - not the factory sh*&te) , flush the box, do that door stay etc and you've got a buyer waiting the minute you get bored with the thing.

Non Existent V70
Hi mate,
The PCV system is done already along with some other niggling faults. The box oil is cherry red so doesn't need flushing for a while and changes gear beautifully. Just the door check strap and a few other small issues to address and she'll be a beauty. I am liking the old dear though just missing the effortless power of my E38 750! |

So, still not 100%, even on your description. Do you release the button after the 10 seconds, but within 5 seconds after that, or within 5 seconds, before the 10 esconds is up!
