2.5T Geartronic is woeful in town - no better than 18 mpg for us. It does far better on the open road/motorway - 30+ mpg or so if you keep the speed sensible.

My S60 2.0T Auto since remap has averaged a calculated 27.1 MPG over a daily 17 mile commute which is about 12 miles of hilly traffic in 30 zones and 5 miles of dual carriageway.

Average before mapping was 21.9 over the previous 6241 miles.

The OBC thinks it's 30.4 but it's well out!

The spreadsheet calculations can be used for any engine in any car. You can put in your own annual mileage, the average miles per gallon for your car and the average fuel cost per litre (which may vary over time and what area of the country you live in, and if you use diesel or petrol).

I have a 2.4T petrol engine (200bhp) with manual gearbox and I have 27.4MPG on the trip computer at the moment. With a roof box and windsurfing board on top and lots of short journeys in traffic during the easter holiday. Without the roof box and on longer journeys I may see 30-32MPG.

V70xc 2.4t lpt AWD auto average 21.9mpg

However it was around 19.9mpg last week.

Over the last 5 years it averages 7k per year, mostly short / country road journey and school runs.

Out on a few motorway runs I've seen close too 30mpg.

I just keep reminding myself that if I wanted mpg I'd have bought a D5!

My driving is 90% motorway, 10% urban and my 2006 S80 2.0t manual averages 9.6 l/100km or 29.4mpg. That's accurate consumption based on the odometer and petrol receipts. The trip computer always reads ~0.4 l/100km better

In my 2.4 T5 manual 6-speed, the dash shows just under 30mpg. Usually about 29.7 or 29.8 average and I never reset it.
I do often use all the power it has available which obviously doesn't help the economy, but that is balanced out by me being lucky enough to live in an area of countryside where I can sometimes go for months without ever getting stuck in any traffic.

My 2004 S80 2.5T with around 80.000 miles averages 10,7 l/100km or 26,5 mpg approximately. This comes from the trip computer with 90% city driving and a long while without servicing though...

I agree with this, 2001 V70 2.4T manual and varies between 27 and 32 depending on 2 mile 30 zone hop to work and long journeys averaging 60-70mph

my 2002 c70 conv t5 hung around 27 - 29

these are both trip computer numbers but I have done a few checks and seems to be close enough

I do like the 2.4T and intend to keep it for a while, but, I would definitely say that if I was going to get a petrol Volvo again I'd get a T5 and up.

2002 V70 T5 Manual : Mixed driving: calculated monthly due paid mileage 30.5mpg overall : on a 65mph motorway/A road run best seen 35mpg.

2004 V70 AWD R Man Mixed driving : calculated monthly ( now out of habit)
25mpg overall best seen 31mpg on "steady" 65mph constant trip to London from Durham ( Worst seen : 7mpg on 10 mile thrash up A68 - Did I actually type that thought???)

Cheers
Bob
